VIRUS

  Viruses are microscopic infectious agents that are neither truly alive nor completely inert. They exist in a kind of biological twilight zone, straddling the boundary between living and non-living entities. Here are some key points about viruses: Structure: Viruses consist of genetic material, either DNA or RNA, surrounded by a protein coat called a capsid. Some viruses also have an outer lipid envelope. Reproduction: Viruses cannot reproduce on their own. They require a host cell to replicate and multiply.
